(ALEXANDRIA, La.) – “Come on out to support our athletes, get involved and just know it’s not just for law enforcement. We encourage everybody to get involved because once you meet these athletes, it’s life changing.”
In Alexandria, the spirit of unity and determination lit up the streets… Twice! Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Officers and Olympic athletes joined forces for two torch runs ahead of this weekend’s Special Olympics in Hammond. Athlete Logan Moore, shared some of the reasons he’s excited for the games to begin…
“This weekend I’ll be in Hammond, and I’ll be doing indoor Bauchi, and it will be good!’
The day began at the Louisiana Special Education Center, where residents cheered on runners as they carried the Flame of Hope in a powerful show of support and inclusion.
Later, the torch made its way from the Alexandria Police Department to Downtown Alexandria. Logan Moore, one of the phenomenal athletes, shared a welcoming message to the community with ABC 31…
